"Scratchback enables me to offer cheap, Google-friendly advertising as a reward for tips, and the income is definitely better than depending upon 'ad-cents' on a tech-related blog. That amounts to a win-win for everyone, in my opinion." - Dazzlin Donna, SEO-Scoop.com

Reasons Why Shoemoney & John Chow Should Use The ScratchBack TopSpot Widget

November 19th, 2007 · 3 Comments

Here’s why and how big publishers like Shoemoney and John Chow should be using ScratchBack.com. Or any big-time blogger or publisher as well.

99% of their readers can’t afford ads on their blogs.
No offense, but those ads are expensive to the regular working blogger like you and me. If Shoemoney and John Chow were running the ScratchBack topspot widget the right way, they’d allow their loyal readers to…

1. Tip them for the helpful tips and strategies they get for free every day.

2. Be able to let you, the loyal reader, give back while getting something in return, either a little nofollow text link or image.

3. Readers who tip will come back to their blog more often to see where they are in the TopSpot list, boosting page views.

Think about it. It makes sense. If John Chow put up the topspot widget on his blog…

and made a 20-spot list, and made it go on auto-bump, and make it $5…

Why wouldn’t his loyal readers want to tip him $5, plus get something in return? In fact, I bet that their loyal readers would fight to stay in the top spot list. Why wouldn’t they? They’re getting exposure (for dirt cheap) to thousands of other readers.

Readers could put in nofollow links in to their blogs, or put in affiliate links, or whatever they want.

Even for $5, if you got a handful of new readers or sales for “giving back” in the form of a tip… it’s a win/win for Shoemoney or John Chow and their readers, no?

Sound off here. If Shoemoney or Johnchow were using the widget, would you tip them for a link back in return? I will, for sure.
